The New Accent jewelry is made of concrete (sand, cement and gravel) mixed with acrylic aggregate combined with stainless steel parts. The color is from the colored sand or gravel I used. Due to the handmade process and the individual casting the color and the pattern of the surface may slightly vary. Every piece is slightly different making each one of them unique.

A few days after casting the jewelry is polished and buffed. Due to acrylic aggregate the microscopic pores of the concrete are filled up so the surface of the jewelry does not absorb any oil or dirt while contacting the skin. Therefore the concrete part does not alter the color or does not become spotted.

Although these pieces are made of concrete they are still lightweight.

Finally I fix hypoallergenic surgical steel (also used for medical tools and implants) parts such as clasp, hook, necklace etc. on to finish the jewelry.
